"Which of these phrases are in the bible, and which are not?"
I didn't have a point in doing this, other than to satisfy my curiosity. Here are the phrases and her responses:
"To thine own self be true" - Yes
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" - No
"Cleanliness is next to godliness" - Yes
"To each their own" - Yes
"Don't let the sun go down on your anger" - No
"The sun also rises" - No
"Ask not for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee" - Yes
"Forgive and forget" - Yes
"God helps those who help themselves" - Yes
"The road to hell is paved with good intentions" - No
"Spare the rod, spoil the child" - No
"Poor as Job's turkey" - No
